A mainstream model turned hardcore porn star once wanted to be a doctor but later dropped out of university.
Catherine Knight got bored of education and instead spent a decade appearing on magazine covers and doing runway walks.
But her mum was “p****d” during the pandemic when she turned to sex work to help pay her bills.
The brunette beauty, 29, signed up to OnlyFans in 2020 before being scouted by an adult entertainment agency.
Her first sex scene was put forward for an award, and this year she was nominated for Best New International Scarlet and Hottest Newcomer at the AVNs.
Her rapid rise in the industry even made her mum proud and she is now accepting of her daughter’s choice.
And speaking exclusively with Daily Star, Catherine said: “I finished school and went to university because I wanted to be a doctor.
“But university wasn’t fun for me. I was just so not into it.
“I was doing modelling on the side and my career just went insane from one day to the next.
“So I stopped going to university and I started travelling. I was modelling internationally for a long time and I did it for over 10 years.
“I realised being a doctor was not exciting. It was just so much to learn and it was just so boring.
“I was obsessed with shows that make that career look more interesting and maybe I was brainwashed by TV.
“I have always been into creative things so studying all day and reading books was just not for me.”
Catherine now lives in Budapest having spent two years in Berlin but she is originally from Chile.
And it was in her home country where she was locked down during the pandemic.
Struggling to earn money she set herself up on OnlyFans, but not everyone was happy.
She explained: “I was combining taking pictures with being super sexy and doing videos and I was able to connect with others which was amazing at the time because we were all so far apart.
“But my mum was really p****d at first when I started OnlyFans.
“She loved me modelling, that’s like a dream for every mum. She was always showing my pictures to friends and family.
“But she was really p****d because she thought I could do better [than sex work], then she started to realise how much money I was making and all the opportunities I have now.
“I am able to travel everywhere and I’m super independent. Basically I am able to enjoy my life in a way that I never did before, not even when I was modelling.
“So she is happy right now with everything I have done.”
OnlyFans led to moving to Europe where mainstream porn opportunities arose and Catherine said it was a chance to see how professionals work on set.
She took notes on lighting and equipment used as she said the experiences helped her to self produce her own content.
And although her family was initially sceptical, Catherine is now “over the moon” that she took her mainstream modelling career into a raunchier direction.
“It has been a dream,” she concluded.
